Accommodation

The Old Coastguard Station can sleep up to 2 people sharing a double bed.

We have tried to create an ‘open’ feel to the interior with lots of natural light but without too much compromise for being a practical and useable living space. Guests have often descibed it as a ‘tardis’!

The Old Coastguard Station living room

The living area opens to the kitchen and dining area and through to the internal hall. There is an internal doorway to the porch and to the shower room.

The living area has a large picture window with a view out of Lochinver Bay. There is a 2 seater sofa and an armchair along with a coffee table and smart TV/DVD player on a corner TV unit. There are a selection of reference books and DVDs along with reading books in the bookshelf upstairs. There is unlimited 4G wifi available to guests.

The kitchen area has a Bosch electric hob and oven and there is a dishwasher. The fridge freezer and microwave are in the hall, kettle and toaster in the kitchen area. The kitchen has a wide range of utensils and kitchenware along with cupboard space for your shopping.

The dining area has a 4 seater (extendable) table and 4 dining chairs. One of the seating positions gives a great view of Suilven.

The shower room has a heated floor and towel rail along with a demisting mirror. There is a WC, wash hand basin with vanity unit and shower cubicle with Moroccan mosaic effect shower wall.

The Old Coastguard Station hall and bathroom

There is a mezzanine bedroom which is accessed by a staircase. The room has a double bed with clothes storage and bedside lighting. The roof light gives a view towards the harbour and Suilven. There is a floor fan provided.

It was impossible to squeeze in a washing machine to the space, so there is a utility and laundry facility in the external garage along with a boot dryer and wet gear hanging. There is a condensing tumble dryer in the laundry and a washing line outside.

The exterior space is deer fenced with a gate, so provides safe parking. It is possible to park a car outside the gate, if the gate is an inconvenience. There is some internal garage space for parking a motorcycle or bicycles. There is a bicycle work stand provided.  There is an outside picnic bench seating area. The garden has not been sculpted so as to leave it as natural as possible. We have, however, planted a number of trees and leave patches of naturally growing flowers to support biodiversity.
